1 Month Open!

It’s already been a whole month since we first opened our doors to the public but wow, what a month it has been!

We kick started 1840 with an Open Day so brides would have the chance to come and meet us, get a sense for what we are offering and what makes us different. We had such a fantastic response and some of our first 1840 Brides came off the back of that very day, so we are hugely grateful to everyone who showed their support and helped us out.

You may have guessed by now, but we are huge advocates of supporting local, so we were thrilled that Carisbrooke Flower Farm were happy to help us out and Rachel from Wed & Prosper worked her magic with those epic Dahlias! We were also treated to our very own 1840 cup cakes by the wonderful Miss Dotty’s Cakes which some of our first customer’s were lucky enough to take away on the day.

Less than three weeks after opening our doors we were so excited to host the Island’s very first trunk show. Now you might be thinking, what actually IS a trunk show – basically, it is an opportunity for a boutique to loan the entire collection from a particular designer, and for this designer event, we were the very first boutique in the whole of the UK to showcase the Memoirs collection from Madi Lane. These dresses won’t even be launched until the start of 2024 so it was a real privilege to be able to offer them to our brides ahead of everyone else and with a fantastic 10% discount.

The turnout was brilliant and we cannot wait to see our 1840 Brides in their Madi Lane dresses when they come to collect at the start of next year!

But the events of month 1 don’t end there! On Saturday 14th October we hosted a launch party to be able to thank everyone in the industry who has helped us get to this stage of our journey and to give other suppliers in the industry a chance to see our boutique.

We were thrilled to have DJ Jakey Chan on the decks setting the mood of the evening and Isle of Wight Cocktail Co. in attendance making sure nobody went thirsty. Whilst All About Catering provided an incredible spread of canapes to soak it all up! A big thank you must also go out to Reece Attrill Photography for capturing the evening perfectly for us. Well, 1 month in and turns out we’ve done quite a lot already! Let’s see what month 2 brings!!
