Our Story
Our sister company, Wed & Prosper, is a wedding planning and styling company based on the Isle of Wight which has been established since 2017.
After years of listening to disheartened brides who were not able to source what they were looking for, we decided to take matters into our own hands and open our own bridal boutique, focussing on unique and alternative styles.
We work with both Isle of Wight based brides as well as mainland brides and will be there to support you from your initial consultation through to your big day.
Meet the Team
1840 is the brainchild of Carrie who is passionate about helping you feel special as well as comfortable on your big day and is run by the team behind Wed & Prosper, our sister wedding planning business, so please feel free to get in touch if you're looking for additional support with other areas of your day.
Our #1840team have all been trained by the designers and involved in selecting the gowns for the boutique and yes we do get to try them all on! You will most likely be met and assisted by Tasha, our lovely Boutique Manager, who knows our dresses inside out and will be able to advise you on materials, styles and cut whilst of course serving you the all important bubbles on arrival! Maisie may also be in touch with you as our Assistant Stylist and PA to the Director. Meanwhile Rachel is behind the scenes running all our social media channels, marketing and does make the odd appearance as Bridal Stylist in the boutique too!
It is rare to find a dress which fits like a glove first time, so if you require any alterations and additional fittings, then we have a team of highly experienced bridal seamstresses at the ready and you will be invited to make appointments well in advance of your wedding.
The Boutique
Our beautiful boutique is located on the top floor, The Loft, of the old Osborne Stables part of a beautiful Grade II listed building, next door to the Osborne Estate, a happy coincidence as we chose our name first!.
